Which Doctor Should I See?
When you join the practice you will be part of the practice list. Patients are free to choose which doctor they have a consultation with. Each of the doctors, however, have particular interests and specialist subjects, and it is often in the best interests of patients to attend the clinics run by the appropriate doctor.
Female doctors and nurses, and male doctors are available each day for consultation. Please state when arranging appointment if you have a preference.
Minor Illness Clinic and Appointments with Nursing Staff
These might be more appropriate for you than an appointment with a doctor. See the Clinics and Services page for details.
Please be prepared to tell the receptionist the reason for your visit so that we can decide which of the nursing staff is best able to help you, and how long should be allocated for your appointment.
Telephone Advice
If your request is to speak to a doctor, the receptionist will either arrange for you to book a telephone consultation, or alternatively, will take your contact telephone number and the doctor will return your call.
As a rule it is not possible to speak to a doctor whilst they are dealing with another patient in their consulting room.
In the interests of good practice, telephone calls should be pre-arranged and planned.

Home Visits
Please phone 01563 522118 or call at reception. If at all possible please phone between 8.30am and 10.00am, if you wish a house visit that day.
All requests for home visits are passed to the visiting GP for that day to assesses the level of urgency and plans who is the most appropriate member of the team to make the call.
Home visits are a very important, but very time-consuming, part of the doctors' day - 3 or 4 patients can be seen in the surgery in the time it takes to do one house call. We therefore ask you to request a house call only if you are genuinely unable, because of sickness or injury, to come to the surgery. The doctors are never unwilling to visit patients who are genuinely housebound.
Children and babies can usually be safely brought to one of the emergency surgeries, or can, if necessary, be seen even more quickly after discussing the problem by phone. It is a great help if patients give some details about the nature of the problem when a house visit is being requested, so that we can assess the urgency of the visit.
Please see the link for further information about home visits
Cancel an Appointment
It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.
You can also text to cancel your appointment. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance. (excluding weekends and public holidays).
